It's time once again for the Springfield F.D. Annual Trout Fishing Tourney Fundraiser at Springfield Lake, Annapolis County.
Registration and breakfast begin at 6:00am at the Fire Hall on Rt. 10.
Fishing begins at 8:00.
Registration is $25; includes breakfast.
Free fishing weekend; no license needed. Lake will be stocked.
You must fish from a boat, canoe, etc.
Bass tournament style rules apply; the fish must be kept alive in a livewell, cooler, or large pail with frequent water changes. Dead fish will not be weighed. Up to 5 fish can be weighed in; the best overall weight will determine the winners.
Two catagories; trout and "other".
First prize in the trout catagory will be $500! Many other prizes for 2nd and 3rd, plus lots of door prizes!
Canteen at the shore.
Ph. 547-2062 or 547-2813 for more info, or post here.
I have personally fished this fundraiser for each of it's previous 19 years; it's a great event and lots of fun. Come on out and give it a try.
There are some HUGE white perch in this lake. The next N.S. record could come out of this lake.

Either I have not had enough coffee this morning, or there is no date listed in your post?

The tournament went well, the weather was beautiful, and the Fire Department put on a great breakfast and had a great canteen at the lake with burgers, hotdogs, fries, etc.
The fishing was tough with the stocked trout developing a case of lockjaw.
At the end of the day I ended up in first place. I was able to catch one beauty (17.5", 2.2lbs), and my 5 fish limit was tops for the event.

Congrats!
The movie Deliverance actually started out as a very pleasant canoe trip.
