With escapement under 25% DFO has a policy of no salmon angling on the river. The Directors are concerned about people targeting salmon when the season is closed. As stated in our minutes DFO doesn’t believe a conviction is probable because people could be bass or trout fishing.

This leaves us with three options (see poll above):

1) leave it the way it is
2) just close the salmon pools to angling
3) close the entire river to all fishing

The Directors feel that they can’t make that decision without the entire membership having input. Therefore we are hosting a meeting on Nov. 3rd at the MARC from 7:00 to 9:00 pm to make a decision. This would then become our recommendation to DFO.
