I'm curious if anyone has had any really good inshore groundfishing on the mainland coast in the last few years? There seems to be no shortage of pollock and small cod, cunner, mackerel and flounder. Has anyone had any 15-30lb fish anywhere outside the Bras d'or? I haven't tried St margarets bay yet and I know they have some decent groundfishing, how about wrecks, it seems we have very few recorded wrecks for being a maritime province with such a long history.

I know that 20-30 years ago people caught 50lb fish off the wharves, etc, but I'm talking this decade. Any great saltwater fish stories from NS?

The Flounder fishing in the Inner BOF is like nothing that has been here for years. Out of this world is all I can say, the last 5-10 years it has exploded to what it once was 25 years ago, IMO.. Flounder in the 2-4 Lbs class is normal, (with a 3-4 lb Flounder being considered jumbo) although there are many small ones also. No Polloack and very few Cod however. macs are a bit further down the bay, in quanities.
I can hardly wait till my first trip of the season, coming very soon.
I keep my head held high and smile, because there are people who will kill to see me fall.
